Eligibility: Open to all current LVAG Members. Wall art and 3-D artwork will be accepted. All artwork must be original; no reproductions or copies are allowed. The subject matter should be appropriate for viewing by children and adults in the library environment.
Applications will be accepted Monday, May 19 through Wednesday, May 28
Entry procedure - Entries will be juried into the show from photos or digital images (.jpg), one photo or image per work. Label each image with name of artist, title of work, medium, size (including frame), and insurance value in the body of the email or on the back of the photo. On-line applications and images should be sent to LVArtistsGuild@gmail.com. Artists will be notified by June 4 whether or not their work has been accepted. There will be a $10 entry fee for the first piece and a $5 fee for the second; you may submit at most two pieces. Entry fees may be paid by check mailed to LVAG at the address above or paid on-line in the web-store at the LVAG website (www.lasvegasartistsguild.com). All monies collected will go to the Dale Karr Scholarship Fund.
Accepted artwork should be brought to the West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146 on Monday, June 16, between 10:30 and 12:00. If this time is a problem for anyone please contact President Patsi Hughes (LVArtistsGuild@gmail.com).
All work must be suitably framed and presented with two D-rings, 2” down from the top of the frame: no wires, sawtooth hangers or similar hardware. Gallery wrap is fine. Due to the limited space available, 2-dimensional work may be no larger than 24” x 30”. 3-dimensional work will be displayed inside covered pedestals; hence the largest dimension of a 3-dimensional work may not be more than 15”. Photo artwork must be presented with glass/glazing.
Persons interested in purchasing artwork will be asked to contact LVAG and will be given contact information. Insurance will be carried by the Library effective from date of delivery to the Library Art Gallery through the date of breakdown of the show. All work accepted must remain in the show for the entire duration of the show. After the show closes artwork must be picked up on Monday, September 8 from 1:30 to 3:00 pm. Submission of an entry to this show constitutes acceptance of all conditions.
Suggestion: If possible, please photograph your work before putting it under glass or plexiglass, as photographing work under glass can be difficult.
An Artists Awards Reception will be held on Tuesday, June 17 from 5:00 to 6:30. Ribbons will be awarded at the reception; cash prizes will be mailed to the recipients. Prizes are Best of Show ($100), First Place ($75), Second Place ($50), and Third Place ($25). There will also be a Peoples’ Choice Award; visitors attending the reception will be asked to vote on this award.
