Theresa's newest works verge on surrealism, using color to magnify the impact of the composition and the subject matter. She tries to put a certain amount of emotion and spirit into her pieces along with the use of symbolic color. Most ideas stem from a simple idea or thought, but often in the process of adding paint and dimension, the pieces take on a life of their own. She uses painting as a therapeutic pastime and a way of exercising her imagination.
