Steamy hails from New York but has lived three decades in the Southwest. A previous VAG member (2002-2006), he rejoined October 2008. Steamy studied traditional art at Nassau Community College, and School of Visual Arts in New York. One of the youngest members ever inducted into the elite Cartoonists Guild, he was also a member of Artists Equity, and the Southern California Cartoonists Society. He is currently a 6-year member of the Wisenheimer (message board associated with the National Cartoonists Society). Steamy's cartoons and writing have appeared in many magazines, including Easyriders, Biker, Tattoo, Hustler, Swank, Score, Saturday Evening Post, Saturday Review, The Artist, Writer's Digest, Environment… and educational, medical, and trade periodicals, as well as books, ads, cartoon strips, features, greeting cards, on products, and websites. His cartoons can be seen in National Lampoon books, "Favorite Cartoons of the 21st Century", and "Not Fit For Print"; and a tribute book to Woody Guthrie, "This Toon Is Your Toon" (Smithsonian Institute collection). He is a cash-prize winner of the 2006 National Contact Center Cartoon Contest. Steamy currently owns and operates his popular online store, "Steamy's Surf Shack", he produces freelance cartoons, writes, and accepts commissions and design assignments. Steamy intends to complete a series of fine art pieces in 2009. He is also a Creative Director in Las Vegas for Dragon Wolf Management (overseeing Dun Now Advertising and DNA Solutions.)
