Karen Wallo creates primarily without using visual references. While painting, she listens to brainwave synchronization music to go deep within her imagination, and enter what she calls "the zone." Her medium is mainly acrylic on canvas, but she also creates with pastels, oils and mixed media. Her style ranges from Abstract Expressionism to Realism. Wallo recently won 'First Place in Painting' in a four state regional competition at the Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art. She is currently exhibiting in this museum which is located in historic downtown Las Vegas. A percentage of the profits from her art sales goes to a number of animal rights causes. Painting is her passion, saving animals and the environment her muse.
